National Corn Growers Association
Communications & Marketing Intern | May 2022 - August 2022
During my summer with NCGA, my main tasks included creating social media content, field notes and crop progress reports. I expanded upon my skillset by writing news releases, creating info graphics and designing a children's booklet. Additionally, I was presented with multiple opportunities to expand my network at association events.

Below is a compilation of my projects.
Social Media
I contributed content to the social media pages twice a week. Below are the top posts and engagement rates.
During the month of July, I organized a social media giveaway on Facebook and Twitter. On Monday, I posted a trivia question that centered around NCGA's current focuses and used the hashtag #AmericasCrop. On Friday, I drew a winner from the comment section of each medium. The winners received a t-shirt and thank you note.

Field Notes
Once a week, I interviewed a NCGA producer to get an update on their field. After the interview, I created a video with their quotes and pictures to be shared on YouTube, the NCGA website and Twitter.

Below is a sample video. The rest can be found here.
Crop Progress Report
Every Monday, NASS released a crop update. I took the numbers from the report and put them in an easy-to-read map. The maps were then shared on Facebook and Twitter for producers.

Below is a sample of what the weekly maps looked like.
In the News
NCGA has a Research Ambassador program that helps fund student research. At the end of the project year, I interviewed the ambassadors and did a writeup to feature what they learned. Here are those highlights.
Meet Corey Schultz, NCGA Research Ambassador

Meet Matthew Runyon, NCGA Research Ambassador

Meet Dylan Shoemaker, NCGA Research Ambassador

Meet Claire Menard, NCGA Research Ambassador

After attending two NCGA hosted events, I wrote a reflection on the details and objectives of each conference.
Infographics
This ethanol Infographic was created to highlight the benefits and advantages of ethanol as a fuel. I used information from NCGA and the Renewable Fuels Assocation.
Childrens Book
My capstone project for this internship was to create a children's book to be distributed to state associations. I was tasked with finding a project to fill a need within the organization. I noticed that there had not been a focus on student connection for a few years.
With the help of state association leaders and teachers involved in the corn industry, I created this children's book for 3rd and 4th grade students.
